Facilities update (16/11/2018)
As you are aware, Frankston Basketball sought member feedback recently regarding basketball facilities which Frankston Basketball utilize as part of its program base.
The key message received from survey respondents was that Frankston Basketball is very fortunate having a committed community motivated to contribute to the future of our sport.
Currently planning is underway addressing trends identified in survey responses. Prioritising renewal works without impacting match scheduling and the overall operation of Frankston basketball stadium remains a priority.
The completion of internal renewal works are scheduled to commence over the coming weeks which will be a continuation of works that commenced earlier in the year.
Frankston Basketball continues to work with Frankston City Council to resolve various roof repairs and are happy to announce that 75% of these works have been completed. Frankston Basketball thanks council officers for their continued support in resolving roofing issues.
Feedback specific to external lighting and car-park traffic management has been communicated to Frankston City Council directly with a meeting planned with officers over the coming weeks. Frankston Basketball understands with increased volumes people using the car park, especially on a Saturday, that a fresh approach is needed to streamline the car park’s usage in peak periods.
Regarding all things on-court, Frankston Basketball has recently completed the delivery of referee beginner schools which over time will assist in addressing the short-fall in referee numbers currently being experienced across our competition base. Referees, along with facility renewal are two of Frankston Basketball’s three main priorities in the short-term, coupled with the association security additional courts for an ever expanding competition base.
Thank you again to you and our community partners in supporting the sustainable future of basketball in our region and thank you again for responding to our facilities survey.
