Melbourne completed a clean sweep over Frankston this weekend with a 103-92 victory at MSAC.

With their women’s team victorious earlier in the day, the Tigers’ men’s side proved too good for the Blues on their home court.

The Tigers had the momentum in the first quarter and held an eight-point lead at quarter time. Frankston improved in the second quarter and overturned the deficit to lead by three points at the half.

Melbourne had to raise their game to regain the lead and their comeback got off to the best possible start when Nic Pozoglou shot a three. The Tigers scored 37 points in the third quarter to hold an 11-point advantage with a quarter to play.

Frankston tried to claw their way back into the contest in the last quarter, but they could only match the Tigers 25 points in the term as Melbourne held on to an 11-point win.

Pozoglou finished just shy of a triple-double, ending the game with 25 points, nine rebounds and nine assists, while Dane Pineau had 21 points, 15 rebounds and five assists.

Damon Bozeman had 33 points, six rebounds and two assists for the Blues, while Igor Hadziomerovic (23 points) and Lachlan Barker (20 points) combined for 43 points.
