Pink Night – Saturday 11th May
This Saturday night the Eltham Wildcats will make the trip south to Frankston Basketball Stadium to take on the Blues for PINK NIGHT as part of NBL1’s Mother’s Day Round (Round 6), and the second week of MAY MADNESS.
An initiative by the league, NBL1’s Mother’s Day Round will be raising money for Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA).
All players will be wearing pink socks and coaches will be dressed in special attire, while junior players will be a walking around with a collection tins from BCNA.
Frankston Basketball General Manager Wayne Holdsworth is excited for the coming weekend.
“This is a great initiative by the league and something we as an association really want to be involved in.”
“We hope to see families come down, have a great night, watch elite basketball and help raise funds for such a wonderful organisation”
Eltham Wildcats General Manger Greg Jeffers shared Holdworth’s excitement.
“Not since the early 1990’s has an Eltham senior team faced off against a Frankston senior team.”
“With both clubs having such strong pathways and connections to their local communities, I can’t think of a better occasion than to have these two clubs facing off; supporting Breast Cancer Network of Australia.””
The women’s game will kick off at 5:30pm between the ‘Powerade’ Blues Women and the Wildcats Women.
Following the women’s game a BEST DRESSED IN PINK PARADE will be run on the show court with prizes to be won.
Supporters from both clubs are encouraged to get involved.
The men’s game will tip off at 7:30pm between the ‘Frankston RSL’ Blues Men and the Wildcats Men.
Collections will be taken throughout the night and direct donations to Breast Cancer Network Australia can be made by clicking HERE
