Poll Results (20/11/2018)
Frankston Basketball recently launched an online poll regarding the state government’s 2014 $2.5million investment in basketball remaining in the Carrum electorate and not being utilised for projects outside the electorate.
An incredible 87% of respondents want to see the $2.5 million from the Bardia Avenue project be diverted to Carrum Downs Secondary College. State MPs for Carrum Sonya Kilkenny and member for Frankston Paul Edbrooke have both stated their support that these funds should remain in the Carrum electorate for the benefit of basketball.
With a record number of females currently participating in basketball and over 15,000 people per annum calling Frankston Basketball home, planning for future basketball facilities within the Frankston region is now at a critical stage.
Now that the federal governments $5.2million which was originally committed to basketball along with Paul Edbrooke & state Labor committing $10million to planned expansion of indoor netball facilities, your support in adding your voice to seeing future basketball projects at Carrum Downs SC & Monterey SC is vital.
With supportive future project partners: Carrum Downs SC & Monterey SC, Frankston Basketball is confident with state government support that these projects can be delivered successfully for the benefit of all users creating flexible learning spaces, while meeting the continued demand for basketball in our region.
