Frankston Basketball (FDBA) would like to acknowledge a special effort during the junior domestic grand final day.
PBBC U8G Purple Storm and Lazer Dreams played in a terrific contest at Frankston Basketball Stadium on Saturday morning.
Purple Storm’s biggest supporter is young Anthony Bromley-Conti.
Anthony has global-developmental-delay and attends team training almost every week with disability support worker Leah who’s daughter plays in the team.
Coach Adam contacted the front office during the week with a plan to help Anthony join in the action during their final participation match.
Late in the game, Anthony’s moment arrived as he subbed into the game and even managed to score his first-ever goal.
Operations Manager Dion Paull spoke about the game.
“Moments like this really capture the spirit of the game, this is what community basketball is all about.”
“Congratulations to coach Adam on a sensational job”
“I’d also like to thank referee Braithyn and the Lazer Dreams for their wonderful support”.
Anthony joined the teams for the post-game presentation and also received a special award from coach Adam to mark the occasion.
