DOMESTIC COMPETITIONS: COVID RELATED FORFEIT POLICY

DOMESTIC COMPETITIONS: COVID RELATED FORFEIT POLICY

Dear Members,

Under the current public health advice anyone who has had contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case at the Tier 1 exposure site should get tested immediately for COVID-19 and must isolate for seven days if fully vaccinated or 14 days if not fully vaccinated.

We understand that this will place teams in a position where they may be unable to supply a team for a fixtured match.

This situation is not currently given due consideration in the domestic competition by-laws.

It is our assessment that teams should not be disadvantaged for complying with public health orders.

The following policy will apply for all COVID related forfeits:

  • No forfeit fee
  • Matches will not be rescheduled
  • Competitions where ladder is sorted by points average – Match recorded as abandoned with a score of 0-0
  • Competitions where ladder is sorted by total points – Match recorded a 0-0 draw, 2 premiership points awarded to each team

This policy is subject to change in accordance with updated public health advice.

Standard notification procedures apply – please call the FDBA office or email competitions@fdba.com.au to notify a forfeit.

The ladder setting for each division can be viewed on the PlayHQ ladder display.

When PTS AVG is listed the ladder is being sorted by Points Average (competition points divided by number of games played).

Where PTS AVG is not listed the ladder is being sorted by Total Points.

Example below showing PTS AVG:

This season a points average ladder will apply for the majority of junior competitions and total points will apply for the majority of senior competitions.

There will be some exceptions which will be communicated when full season fixtures are published.

Regards,

Dion Paull – Operations Manager
