Frankston Blues (FDBA) are pleased to announce that Duncan Berg will return to the club for the next two years as Head Coach of our ‘Frankston RSL’ Youth League Men.
Berg joined the club for the Youth League Division 1 Championship season in 2022, but now his sights are on Victorian Youth Championship Men.
Senior Men’s Head Coach Andrew Harms spoke about Duncan’s impact on the program.
“Duncan assimilated seamlessly into our senior men’s program and was a key figure in the success experienced at both levels.”
“We knew he came with vast experiences in both NBL1 (SEABL) and Youth League. We knew that he could guide, challenge and educate our emerging talent to reach their potential.”
“Guiding the Youth League Men to a championship and entry into Victorian Youth Championship division and assisting the NBL1 to runners up in the National Championship is a testament to Duncan’s impact in his first year.”
“It’s an exciting time for the club to sign Duncan on for a further 2 years and we can’t wait to see him continue to value add to our senior program!”
Duncan Berg spoke about his reappointment.
“Very happy to be returning to Frankston for the next two years. I thoroughly enjoyed my first year and have been impressed with the level of professionalism and leadership that Harmsy has created in the senior men’s program.”
“It was great to win a championship and it is always the goal, but it was exceptional to win with the guys who helped to reset the Youth League program back in 2018.”
“They are guys who have given so much to the club and will continue in the future, so to finish their Youth League run the way it started was awesome. It will be a challenge for the club to move up to the Championship division, but it is an important move in terms of our main goal of developing players for the next level.”
“While our seasons clashed most weeks, it was exciting to be part of an NBL1 program again and to extend that season to the National Championship match was incredible.”
“I am thankful for how everyone has welcomed me into the club and I’m looking forward to starting the 2023 preparation in the coming weeks. Let’s go Blues!!”
