The Summer Season has come to a close for 2022/23 after Saturday’s huge Junior Domestic Grand Final and Participation Day.
As per previous seasons Under 8s played participation matches in good spirit, based off ladder position (1st v. 2nd, 3rd v. 4th etc.)
Followed up with Under 10s to Under 14s playing for Grand Final glory, and MVP awards given to best on court that day.
Over the course of the day 109 games were played with a total of 4436 points scored.
The highest team score came from Rowellyn Rockets U12 Boys RANGERS with a huge 69 points.
The most successful club on the day were the Mt. Eliza Meteors, who secured seven grand final wins. Followed by Rowellyn Rockets and Woodlands Warriors who won four each.
Saturday’s highest scoring games by an individual include:
U10 Boys: Harry Williams scored 26 points for the Woodleigh Ninjas in their 30-16 win.
U10 Girls: PBC Opals scored 19 points in a three-point win, Emma Curtis leading the way with 16 points.
U12 Boys: In an extraordinary performance for the FHS Lightning Bolts, William Hunt poured in 23 points in a five-point win.
U12 Girls: Amelia Crawford and Rose Grigor scored 17 points apiece for their respective sides on Saturday, Flinders U12 Girls Stars and Derinya Smurfettes.
U14 Boys: The biggest scoring explosion of the day came from Lazer Gunns guard Thomas Nye, who scored 34 points in a 1-point win.
U14 Girls: Bella Shaw was a standout in St. John’s 56-16 win on Saturday, scoring a huge 21-points!
Special mention to Indiana Male, the only player to walk away with two MVP medals on the day (Flinders U12G Stars & Flinders U14G Angels)
Frankston Basketball hopes everyone had fun through out the season and we look forward to seeing everyone back Saturday 29th April for Round 1 Winter 2023 season.
