As we gear up for the upcoming VJBL 2023/24 Season, the Frankston Blues are thrilled to introduce the Frankston Blues Girl’s Team 1 coaching line-up that is sure to lead our talented athletes to new heights. Each coach brings a wealth of experience, passion, and expertise to the court, promising an unforgettable season of growth, development, and success.
Natalie Porter – Future Blues Squad Head Coach (2015-Born Girls)
Natalie Porter, the current Frankston Blues Head of Coaching (Junior Girls), Australian Olympian, and Olympic Silver Medallist, is set to lead the charge for our Future Blues Squad. With a decorated WNBL career, including being a Life Member, MVP, All-Star 5, and Defensive Player, Natalie’s extensive basketball journey will undoubtedly inspire and shape the young talents under her guidance.
Braithyn Kerr – Girls 12.1 Head Coach
Bringing a winning mentality, Braithyn Kerr joins as the U12.1 Girls Head Coach. His coaching prowess was evident through his achievements as the Assistant Coach of the gold-medal-winning U12 Girls’ team at the National Junior Classic and Eltham Dandenong Tournament in the 2022/23 Season. Braithyn’s association with the Frankston Blues since 2013 and his involvement in Basketball Victoria’s high-performance program highlight his commitment to nurturing emerging talents.
Cristy McCluskey – Girls 14.1 Head Coach*
Cristy McCluskey, the current 2022/23 U12.1 Girls Head Coach, is set to take the reins of the U14.1 Girls team. Her coaching success, including leading the gold-winning U12.2 Girls in the VJBL1 division (2021/22 Season), is a testament to her dedication and skill. Having graced the WNBL courts as a player for Melbourne Tigers and Bulleen Boomers, along with her golden victories in Victorian Metro teams, Cristy brings a wealth of experience to the team.
Narelle Davis – Girls 16.1 Head Coach
Under 16.1 Head Coach Narelle Davis boasts an impressive coaching legacy at Frankston since 2008, overseeing both boy’s and girl’s teams across various age groups and levels. Her firsthand experience of winning National Championships playing for Victorian Metro teams and her remarkable achievements as a Junior & Senior player for the Frankston Blues in SEABL and CBA competitions positions Narelle as a formidable leader.
Nikki Holmes – Girls 18.1 Head Coach
Nikki Holmes is a multifaceted coach and player, takes charge of the U18.1 Girls team. Her coaching prowess extends from her role as a current U12 double-bottom age coach for the Blues to being an accredited Basketball Victoria Club Coach and Jamboree Coach. With a background that includes WNBL experience at Dandenong, Nikki’s rich sports history as a qualified teacher, Junior AFL Coach of the Year, and retired Naval officer adds a unique dimension to her coaching style.
The Frankston Blues Girls 1s Team is poised for an incredible journey in the VJBL 2023/24 Season, guided by these exceptional coaches who embody dedication, skill, and a profound love for the game. We look forward to witnessing the growth and success of our players under their expert tutelage.

- Frankston Blues New Player Try Outs: For players that have never played VJBL basketball. (Boys – 29th August, Girls – 27th September)
- Frankston Blues Returning & Transferring Player Try Outs: For players that have either played for Frankston Blues or another VJBL club.
- Basketball Victoria Permission to Train Form: Players who are currently playing for or have previously played in a VJBL competition and wish to obtain ‘Permission to train’ (PTT) at another association must complete and submit the correct form before trying out with a new association.
