The Frankston Blues are thrilled to announce the signing of Kingsley Box for the upcoming NBL1 South 2025 season! A versatile and dynamic player, Box brings a wealth of experience and talent to the team.
Currently a training player with Melbourne United (NBL), Kingsley is returning to his roots, having played some of his junior years with the Frankston Blues. His basketball journey comes full circle as he rejoins the club.
After averaging an impressive 10.1 points, 1.5 assists, and 4.8 rebounds per game in the NBL1 South 2024 season, Kingsley is excited to join the Blues, drawn to the team’s cohesive style of play and strong, deep roster. “I wanted a change in scenery, and I know Jacko (Adam Jackson) well, so the conversation started there,” said Box. “I’ve seen how the Blues play, and I really like the system. There’s no iso ball or anything like that—just team-first basketball.”
Kingsley is particularly looking forward to blending his style of play with the Blues. “Me personally, I like to play off-ball screens and do a lot of spot-up shooting, so I think I’ll blend well with the boys. The team has been put together really well, and the key to success in a competitive league like the South is having a deep roster,” Box added. “Two or three guys doing all the heavy lifting just won’t cut it, and Frankston absolutely has that.”
Adam Jackson, assistant coach and head of recruitment for the Frankston Blues Men’s team, shared his thoughts on Kingsley’s signing: “We are excited about him returning to his junior club. We think he will complement our playing group with his shooting and the way he moves without the ball.”
Known for the electric atmosphere in the Frankston home crowd, Kingsley is eager to play in front of the Blues faithful. “Having played as an away team at Frankston, you see how packed out it gets. It’s always eventful, things got a bit chirpy last time Nunawading came to play, but it’s always a great event,” he said. “I’m excited to be one of the Blues fam, and I hope the fans are excited too.”
Kingsley Box joins contracted players Corey Hastings, Michael Harris, Daniel Trist, Igor Hadziomerovic, Tom Garrett, and Lucas Barker.
