Frankston Basketball: What You Need to Know During the Redevelopment
As we prepare for the exciting redevelopment of the Frankston Basketball Stadium, this information pack has been created to help guide you through the transition. Below, you’ll find details about temporary venue arrangements, updated policies, and how to stay connected with the FDBA team throughout the redevelopment period.
While we acknowledge the changes may bring some short-term disruption, we’re confident the end result—a state-of-the-art 10-court facility with a 1,000-seat show court—will be well worth the wait.
Thank you for your patience and continued support during this exciting time for our basketball community.
Please see the handbook linked here, a very valuable resource to help navigate the changes to come: Frankston Basketball Redevelopment Handbook.

Junior competition fixture requests:
During the redevelopment we will be utilising more one and two court venues. Without the flexibility that a 6-court venue provides, fixture requests will have to be kept tightly within the bounds of the FDBA Junior Fixture Request Policy, which includes;
- Coaches of multiple teams will be accommodated (no games clash)
- Players in multiple teams, permanent specific games time requests and team manager requests will not be accommodated
- Special event (one-off) requests may be accommodated with 7 days’ notice
Senior competition fixture requests:
Court availability will fluctuate throughout the region during the redevelopment period. ‘Late game audits’ will be conducted by FDBA front office staff. Late games are to be distributed as equally as possible between all teams across the season.
Fixture requests/players in multiple teams on the same game-night can be accommodated for on most occasions. Without the flexibility of a 6-court venue, not all requests can be fulfilled every week.
Senior competition 10:00pm matches & forfeit procedure:
Court availability will fluctuate throughout the region during the redevelopment period.
As a result, some game-nights may be affected and more 10:00pm matches may be scheduled.
‘Late game audits’ will be conducted by FDBA front office staff. Late games are to be distributed as equally as possible between all teams across the season.
Penalties for forfeiting (equal to x2 Senior Match Fee) will remain the same, even for matches scheduled at 10:00pm.
A team who notifies the FDBA of a forfeit with 7+ days’ notice will have their forfeit fine waived.
The FDBA Forfeit Procedure can be found here: Forfeit Procedure.
Fixture requests/players in multiple teams on the same game-night can be accommodated for on most occasions. Without the flexibility of a 6-court venue, not all requests can be fulfilled every week.
