JESSICA CHARD – FDBA’S NEW INCLUSION OFFICER!

Frankston & District Basketball Association (FDBA) is pleased to welcome Jessica Chard as the Association’s new Inclusion Officer.

Jess brings a strong connection to the Frankston basketball community, with her involvement in the sport beginning at just five years old. Basketball was initially a way to make friends, but it didn’t take long for it to become a major part of her life. Jess progressed through the pathway as a Blues junior and later represented the club in the Big V competition.

Jess brings broad experience across health, fitness and coaching, working as a Personal Trainer, Fitness Instructor and Sports/Basketball Coach. She has also been actively involved in FDBA’s inclusion programs, supporting and coaching inclusion sessions at Frankston Basketball. Jess describes Fridays as her “favourite day of the week” thanks to her time spent coaching within the inclusion space.

For Jess, inclusion is about helping every participant feel supported to reach their potential. “The most important thing is to try and inspire people so that they can be great in whatever they want to do,” Jess said.

Jess says she’s excited to step into the role and continue supporting the inclusion community at FDBA, adding that Frankston Basketball has “always been my second home.”

FDBA welcomes Jess to the team and looks forward to the impact she will make as she begins her new role supporting inclusive basketball opportunities across the association.
