FDBA would like to thank you all for your ongoing support and patience during these testing times. Unfortunately the announcement of another 6 week lockdown was a bitter blow the second time around, especially when the competition was so close to resuming.

FDBA is committed to providing participation opportunities for all members and our priority remains the resumption of domestic competitions as soon as possible.

Winter 2020 Season Cancellation

The 6 week lockdown period comprises more than half of the planned Winter 2020 season leaving us no other option but to cancel the season entirely.

Summer 2020/21 Season

With the information available to date, FDBA is planning for a revised return date from Thursday 20 August. Members can expect a gradual return in line with Basketball Victoria’s Return to Sport Guidelines ie, non-contact training, contact training then competition with limitations in place.

This date is subject to change and FDBA is closely monitoring the situation in conjunction with Basketball Victoria.

Confirmation of the season structure will be provided in due course.

Teams & players that registered for the Winter 2020 season have been carried over to the Summer 2020/21 season on PlayHQ:

  • Senior Teams – FDBA will contact team delegates directly to confirm participation or refund
  • Junior Teams – Clubs will contact members to confirm participation or refund
