Frankston Blues (FDBA) are proud to announce the return of Igor Hadziomerovic for the next three years.

Following the cancellation of the 2020 NBL1 South Season, Hadziomerovic’s contract has been rolled over to begin this upcoming season.

Haziomerovic first joined the Blues in 2019. The versatile guard provided 15 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game while shooting 51% from inside the three-point arc, and an impressive 42% beyond it. He earned selection to the NBL1 All-Star team that participated in the NBL Blitz in Tasmania.

“Iggy was an essential part of our success in 2019. His ability to influence the game in numerous ways across multiple metrics was really impressive.”

“The most important part of Iggy’s influence on our club has been in his leadership both on and off the court. He takes ownership of his actions on the floor and in the locker room and leads by example in all aspects.”

“Iggy came to us at an important crossroads for the club and we can’t wait for him to continue building his legacy at Frankston.”

Hadziomerovic spoke about his return and the resilience shown by the club over the past twelve months.

“It’s super exciting to be finally back on the court and playing again!”

“Last year really put it in perspective how much I took basketball for granted and being able to get up and down with the boys recently has been awesome. I think the club did a great job in engaging with the wider community and running zoom sessions to keep the younger kids involved. It was very pleasing to see how many kids from the organization kept working on their skills and stayed resilient through the lockdown period.

“I’ve committed for an additional 3 years and I think Wayne, Harmsy and Jacko have done a great job in putting together a roster that’ll give us a really good chance to make a deep run next season and building on that.”

“I’m really looking forward to what the 2021 season has in store for us.”
