Basketball Victoria has invited the best under-14 athletes from the Country Skills Days to participate in this year’s Regional Basketball Academy Program, with 4 Frankston Blues players announced.
Basketball Vicotria’s Participation and Development Coordinator Craig Hockley spoke about last weeks Skills Camps
“It was great to see the Skills Days return and give the players High-Performance training and development,”
“ We want to thank everyone who took part in the Under-14 Skills Days as well as those players who were selected for the Regional Basketball Academy.”
“Each year we see players take the next step and improve their standards and this in no small part is due to the hard work that our country associations put in developing elite country talent.”
The Under-14 Regional Academy Program is a training and development program for country athletes that concentrates on advanced individual and team skills.
The 2021 Regional Basketball Academy will be a 20-week program that includes two camps and develops individual’s skills and team concepts.
The Regional Basketball Academy will also form the basis for Australian Country Junior Basketball Cup (ACJBC) and Southern Cross Challenge selection in the relevant age groups for 2022.
