It is with a sense of sadness but pride that we announce that FDBA Development Manager Jarryd Moss is moving into a key development role with peak body Basketball Victoria. We have known about Jarryd’s appointment for a little while now but out of respect for all parties have delayed the announcement until today.
Jarryd has worked with the FDBA for 4 years now and over the past 12 months or so we have been working with Jarryd to provide him with personal development opportunities here at the FDBA but also supporting him with external development opportunities.
Jarryd has been instrumental in the record numbers that have participated in our development programs over the past few years he has also been a significant driver in our engagement strategy throughout the Covid lockdown periods in the past 2 years. His work with Headspace to provide support to our community has been recognized by Federal Government in Federal Parliament.
Jarryd is a wonderful person, a man of quality and it has been a privilege and honor to work alongside him.
On behalf of the FDBA Board and his work colleagues, we sincerely thank him for his contribution and his new role will still see him around our stadium occasionally, and importantly he will be making himself available to represent the Frankston Blues NBL1 Men, who have some unfinished business to attend to.
On his departure, Jarryd had some words to say.
I’ve been very lucky in my time at the FDBA to work with some tremendous people and to serve a passionate and loyal basketball community.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you all for welcoming me and for allowing me to learn and grow over the past 4 years at this great association.
In particular, I’d like to thank our Junior Blues volunteers; the coaches, the team managers, and the committee members. With the support of our Coaching Coordinators; Scott, Beck, and Kerryn – you have all turned the Frankston Blues into a destination club once again.
To our Senior Blues team; players, coaches, and officials – thank you for setting such a great example for our members and for being so accessible and generous with your time. Having members of a senior program that present themselves the way you all do creates a clear pathway for all aspiring members of our basketball community.
To our Development Program Coaches, a number of which fall into the above categories – thank you for your support and for choosing to spend your time helping nurture the next generation of players.
Finally to Tim and the FDBA Board, and front office team; Bailey, Daniel, Dion, Jenny, Lauren, Mitch, Sue, and Wayne, thank you for your continued support. I’m lucky to have worked with such a dynamic and hard-working team. There is no task too big or too small for anyone and everyone is willing to roll up their sleeves and have a crack.
I look forward to still catching up with everyone when I am around the stadium, both in my new role with Basketball Victoria and in my role as a player with the Senior Men’s program. We have unfinished business both in the NBL1 and in the Big V and I look forward to seeing the stands filled with passionate Blues families as we take all 4 titles (Men and Women) in 2022!
Go well Jarryd.
