WINTER 2022 JUNIOR DOMESTIC SEASON UPDATE

Dear Members,

Frankston Basketball is pleased to confirm the Winter 2022 ‘Fratelli Frankston’ Junior Domestic Competitions begin this week.

We are thrilled to announce a new Winter record number of junior teams that have registered this season.

Please find the information below for our upcoming Winter 2022 ‘Fratelli Frankston’ junior domestic competition.

Fixtures

Grading Phase 1 fixtures are now available for mid-week U16 – U21 competitions:

Monday U18/21 Girls competitions will be available from 5.00pm Thursday 28th April.

Saturday U8 – U14 competitions will be available from 5.00pm Wednesday 27th April.

Team Registrations

A record 620 junior teams have registered:

  • U8 Boys (58 teams)
  • U8 Girls (19 teams)
  • U10 Boys (68 teams)
  • U10 Girls (52 teams)
  • U12 Boys (85 teams)
  • U12 Girls (54 teams)
  • U14 Boys (80 teams)
  • U14 Girls (49 teams)
  • U16 Boys (58 teams)
  • U16 Girls (32 teams)
  • U18 Boys (32 teams)
  • U18 Girls (15 teams)
  • U21 Boys (15 teams)
  • U21 Girls (3 teams) – Age group combined with U18 Girls

Grading

The Junior Competition Committee is meeting tonight, Tuesday 26th April to review grading pools.

Grading will return to our regular 2-phase structure for all junior competitions this season with the exception of our U8 competitions.

All U8 coaches are required to read the important document below:

Season Structure Summary

  • First 2 rounds will consist of our standard 2 week grading phase
  • Regular season will consist of 3 x Development Blocks:

o    Block 1: Weeks 4 to 10 (no games week 7 – Queens Birthday long weekend)

o    Block 2: Weeks 10 to 14

o    Block 3: Weeks 15 to 19
