PAUL GROAT RECEIVES LIFE MEMBERSHIP TO THE FDBA

Last night, following the FDBA’s 2022 Annual General Meeting, a special presentation was made to one of the most dedicated people within our Association.

In front of a crowd of family, the Senior Blues programs, FDBA Staff and Board Members, and existing FDBA Life Members, FDBA CEO Wayne Holdsworth made a special presentation.

“Today at our AGM there were five nominations for the highest accolade in the association.”

“That is of life membership!”

“And today, ladies and gentlemen, at the AGM, Paul Groat was nominated for life membership, and accepted!”

Paul Groat’s contribution across the Association over the past 20 years includes coaching Junior Domestic basketball for the Woodlands Warriors, coaching Junior Representative basketball (VJBL) for the Frankston Blues, and both Team Managing and Assistant Coaching Senior Representative basketball (NBL1, SEABL, and Big V) for the Frankston Blues, in both men’s and women’s programs.

Paul has also contributed to the sport thru his work with Basketball Vicotria and Basketball Australia in Team Manager and Coaching roles.

Prior to last night, only 26 people had received Life Membership to the FDBA.

Paul’s induction was joined by Gaile Reid, Grant Dennis, Klaas Froling and Bill Runchey.
