BELINDA SNELL DECIDES NOT TO CONTINUE IN 2023

Frankston Blues NBL1 Women’s Head Coach Belinda Snell has decided not to continue in her role as Head Coach for the upcoming 2023 NBL1 South Season.

The two-time Silver, one-time Bronze Olympian joined the club in 2020 before two challenging cancelled seasons due to the Covid 19 Pandemic.

During her time with Frankston, Snell won a WNBL Championship with the Southside Flyers and helped pave the way for many aspiring coaches within our club.

FDBA CEO Wayne Holdsworth praised Belinda’s commitment during challenging times.

“We have been privileged to have had Belinda involved with our club for the past 3 years.”

“Belinda is not only one of the most decorated basketball people in the country Belinda is an absolute ornament to the game.”

“She is one of the very best people I have met in sport”.

Belinda Snell spoke about her time with the club and the future of the Blues.

“Thanks everyone at Frankston for welcoming me to the Blues. The support over the last 3 years has been incredible.”

“I would like to especially thank Wayne, Jo, Emma, Jarryd and Daniel for all their assistance and the players for all their hard work.”

“I look forward to seeing the progress of many promising athletes and people from the Frankston Blues.”

Belinda will coach the last home fixtured game this Saturday against Diamond Valley and then the away game Sunday against the Tigers to wrap up the NBL1 South 2022 season.

The club would like to encourage everyone to show their appreciation this Saturday, where a small presentation will occur.
