Frankston Blues (FDBA) are pleased to announce that Nat Porter will be taking on the position of Frankston Blues Head of Coaching – Junior Girls.
Natalie Porter’s playing resume includes two Olympic Games including a Silver Medal at the 2004 Athens Olympics and playing in the Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL) from 1996 to 2011 suiting up for AIS, Dandenong Rangers, Townsville Fire, Sydney Uni Flames. During her time in the WNBL she was awarded the Robyn Maher Defensive Player of the Year and All-Star Five in 2003 and in 2008 was the league’s Most Valuable Player. During the 2010/11 WNBL season she received WNBL Life Membership.
Nat is well known around the club, having coached in the Junior Blues Girls program since 2017. In her time with the club, she has led her teams to multiple National Junior Classic appearances and qualified for National Junior Championships (Under 14s) before the season was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In 2018 Nat was inducted into Basketball Victoria’s Wall of Fame.

“Firstly, and foremost, Nat is a great person defined by her integrity, with a real passion for coaching young aspiring athletes. We believe Nat is the perfect person to lead the Frankston Blues Junior Girl’s program, for the benefit of the players, coaches and wider-basketball community”
Nat Porter spoke about her appointment.
“I am excited to share my knowledge across the Girl’s program in 2023 and build on the framework and strong foundation that already exists within our Junior Blues program.”
Nat will begin in her role on Monday 20th of February as our teams enter the start of the regular VJBL season.
