Frankston Basketball is pleased to confirm the Winter 2023 ‘Fratelli Frankston’ Junior Domestic Competitions is set to commence next Wednesday 26th April.
In what has been a season of record-setting registrations, FDBA has experienced record growth with the number of junior teams registered for the Winter season with 694.
The junior competition growth and increased numbers in our senior domestic competitions has brought the amount of registered domestic teams for the Winter 2023 to over 1000 teams for the second season in a row!
We would like to thank all our affiliated domestic clubs for their tireless work in achieving this feat.
Grading Phase 1 fixtures are now available from Friday 5.00pm 21st April for mid-week U16 – U21 Boys competitions:
Winter 2023 – Junior Competition Calendar
Saturday U8 – U14 & Monday U16 – U21 Girls competition fixtures will be available to view online from 5.00pm Monday 24th April.
U8 teams – please refer to the section below regarding season structure for the U8 competitions.

There are 694 junior teams for the Winter competition registered surpassing 598 in Winter 2022.

Grading
The Junior Competition Committee held its first meeting on Wednesday 19th April to review the grading pool’s and allocate initial grades.
Grading will consist of the regular 2-phase structure for all junior competitions with the exception of our U8 competitions (see below).

Season Structure Summary
First 2 rounds will consist of our standard 2 week grading phase
- First 4 rounds will consist of the standard 2-week grading phase
- Regular season will consist of 3 x development blocks
- Block 1: Weeks 4 to 9
- Block 2: Weeks 10 to 14
- Block 3: Weeks 15 to 19
