VALE PETA MURPHY

VALE PETA MURPHY

Vale Peta Murphy.

Our friend Peta Murphy passed away today after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer.

Peta Murphy was an unbelievably strong advocate for community sport and particularly inclusion. Peta inspired our basketball association to broaden our basketball offering which has resulted in an unparalleled offering of basketball programs for everyone.

Peta was instrumental in attracting Federal Government funding for the redevelopment of our Frankston Basketball Stadium. Without her drive, we may not have been successful in attracting funds.

But above all, Peta was fair dinkum. She was legitimate and genuine and a person who was trusted implicitly here at the Frankston and District Basketball Association.

We will miss Peta the person not necessarily the politician because she was much more than a politician to us.

On behalf of Tim Bower the President of the Frankston and District Basketball Association and everyone else that Peta has touched at our Association, I would like to extend our sincerest condolences to Rod (Peta’s Husband) and all of her family and friends.

RIP Peta Murphy. You will be missed enormously.
