CAR PARKING UPDATE (06/12/23)

Dear Club and Team Delegates,

The timeline for the indicated works has now changed to Wednesday 13th December  – Wednesday 20th December

Please find communication from Frankston City Council below regarding a temporary change to Traffic conditions and Pedestrian Access due to the current Kananook Commuter Car Park construction project.

Between 7.00am – 6.00pm from Wednesday 13th December 2023 until Wednesday 20th December 2023, the following changes to traffic conditions and pedestrian access will occur at 90 Bardia Avenue, Seaford:

  • The overflow car park between the stadium and Kananook Reserve will be closed
  • The gravel road from McCulloch Avenue into the reserve will be closed
  • Vehicle access to Easton Avenue (as marked on the map) will only be available to properties in the street
  • Parking will not be available along Easton Avenue
  • There will be additional construction traffic and noise in the area during work hours (7.00am – 5.00pm weekdays)
  • Work hours may be extended to Saturday 16th December (weather dependant)

Parking on the nature strip on Bardia Avenue is prohibited. Council parking inspectors have been patrolling and fining cars that park on the nature strip.

Members are responsible for their own vehicle and FDBA is unable to appeal any fines issued.

Parking will remain available at Kananook Railway Station and parking spaces are available north of Bardia Avenue, adjacent to the train line.

If you could please pass this on to your players and parents to ensure there is plenty of time allowed to park at Dreamstreet Lending Arena (Frankston Basketball Stadium).

Please find the attached diagram confirming the information above.
