It is with deep sadness that Frankston & District Basketball Association (FDBA) recognises the passing of Mary, beloved wife of John Holden, one of Frankston Basketball’s most distinguished Life Members.
John Holden’s contribution to basketball spans over six decades, his dedication earned him honorary life membership with FIBA and life membership at five separate basketball associations across Victoria.
Much of his success could not have been achieved without Mary by his side. A devoted partner who offered unwavering support. Her presence in the basketball community was a quiet but significant one, providing the foundation from which John could pursue his passion for the game.
Her loss will be felt by all who knew her, and we extend our heartfelt condolences to John and his family during this time. The Frankston Basketball community honours her memory and her invaluable contribution to our shared history.
May she rest in peace.
