Frankston Blues (FDBA) are proud to announce our 2025 Big V Victorian Youth Championship Men’s (VYCM) and Women’s (VYCW) teams, as both squads prepare for the upcoming season. With a strong core of returning players and a renewed focus on development and success, we are ready to compete at the highest levels!
VYCM Head Coach Duncan Berg returns for his fourth year leading the team and is confident in the strength of his squad, which returns 13 players from last season. “This group has a strong foundation, with 13 returning players who know our system and are ready to take their game to the next level,” Berg said. “Their experience, chemistry, and commitment to improving make them a formidable team on both ends of the floor. We’ve lost two key players to age, but the depth and leadership within this squad will ensure we continue to compete at a high level. The team has a great mix of athleticism, skill, and determination, and I’m excited to see how they rise to the challenge this season.”
On the women’s side, newly appointed VYCW Head Coach April Whiston is equally excited about the talent and potential of her squad. “This group of players is incredibly talented, and each brings something unique to the team,” Whiston said. “We have dynamic scorers, elite defenders, and athletes with the speed and strength to impact both ends of the court. Their competitiveness and willingness to improve make them exciting to watch and a challenge for any opponent. Our returning players are ready to step up, while our development players are showing great promise. With a mix of versatility, confidence, and determination, I have no doubt this team is set for a strong season ahead.”
With a blend of experienced leadership, emerging stars, and a strong club culture, the future is bright for our Victorian Youth Championship teams.
