While the Frankston Basketball Stadium on Bardia Avenue undergoes a much-needed upgrade, our operations are now temporarily based out of Jubilee Park Stadium (JPS). We’ve teamed up with our neighbours at the Frankston & District Netball Association (FDNA), whose generous support in sharing their space is a great example of local sport at its best.

Even though our offices are on opposite sides of the building, we’re still working closely with the FDNA team and always looking for ways to team up and make things better for both basketballers and netballers.
JPS officially opened in October 2023 and it’s seriously impressive. The $36.6 million facility has six courts, including a show court that seats 1,000, plus training areas for a variety of different sports, event spaces, a café, occasional childcare, and accessible facilities that support everyone in the community. It replaces the old two-court netball setup that had been bursting at the seams for years.
Thanks to FDNA’s generosity, along with the support of fellow tenant sports including Frankston YCW Football Club and Frankston Peninsula Cricket Club, basketball at Frankston continues to run smoothly. Competitions, programs, and development pathways are all full steam ahead while our original home gets a revamp.
While it’s a change of scenery, we’re excited to call Jubilee home for the next two years and keep the momentum going by delivering a great basketball experience to our members.
“This partnership reflects the strength of our local sporting community,” said Wayne Holdsworth, CEO of Frankston & District Basketball Association (FDBA). “We’re grateful to FDNA and the broader Jubilee Park network for making space for basketball and helping ensure continuity for our members during this exciting redevelopment phase.”
With two of the largest sporting associations in the region now operating from the same venue, the partnership is already showing promise in terms of shared goals and community impact. Jubilee Park may also open the door for FDBA-hosted tournaments and if we’re lucky, for the Frankston Blues Representative Program to train and play at the venue on a regular basis – further integrating basketball into the precinct’s growing sports ecosystem.
FDBA General Manager – Operations, Mitchell Condick said;
“On behalf of FDBA, I’d like to sincerely thank Miranda and the FDNA team for generously welcoming us to JPS during the Frankston stadium’s redevelopment. We’re also incredibly grateful to Frankston YCW Football Club and Frankston Peninsula Cricket Club for making space in this fantastic multi-sport precinct. Their support has been key to keeping our 9,000-strong basketball community connected and active during this transition.”
Lou Meagher, President of Frankston YCW Football Netball Club, added:
“Frankston YCW is proud to support this partnership and play a part in keeping our local sporting community connected. It’s a great example of what’s possible when clubs work together for the benefit of all.”

Miranda Castles, General Manager of FDNA, shared her enthusiasm:
“We are thrilled to open the doors of Jubilee Park Stadium to FDBA and their vibrant basketball community. The spirit of collaboration here at JPS – between netball, basketball, football, and cricket – truly showcases what’s possible when local clubs work together. We look forward to supporting FDBA and strengthening these community ties over the next two years.”
While Frankston Basketball eagerly anticipates the grand reopening of its redeveloped home, the team is embracing this period at Jubilee Park as a valuable opportunity. A place where sports collaboration, community spirit, and future growth all come together.
