Four Blues recognised in 2026 Big V Season Awards finalists
Although the Victorian Youth Championship Men’s season came to an end on Saturday with a Semi Final defeat to Sandringham, the Blues have plenty to celebrate after another outstanding campaign.
Four members of the program have been recognised among the competition’s best as finalists in the 2026 Big V Season Awards.
Bailey Marshall and Lachlan Kanngiesser have both been named finalists for the Big V All Star Five following exceptional individual seasons.
Marshall averaged 14.4 points, 10.2 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game, establishing himself as one of the league’s premier forwards, while Kanngiesser averaged 16.7 points and 4.3 rebounds as a consistent offensive threat throughout the year.
At the defensive end, Heath Tenner has been recognised as a finalist for Defensive Player of the Year, anchoring the Blues’ defence while averaging two blocks per game and providing a formidable presence in the paint.
Head Coach Duncan Berg is also in the running for Coach of the Year after leading the Blues to a 16–6 record and another strong finals campaign.
Congratulations to Bailey, Lachlan, Heath and Duncan on their well-deserved recognition, and to the entire team on another outstanding season.
Winners will be presented at the Big V Awards Night on 5 September at The Pullman, Albert Park.
