Frankston Blues and the FDBA would like to extend their best wishes to Duncan Berg, who is stepping away from his senior coaching roles due to family reasons.
Since joining the association in 2022, Duncan has made a significant contribution to our senior programs. In his first season, he guided the YL Men to a Youth League One Championship before leading the Blues through their promotion to the Victorian Youth Championship Men (VYCM) competition.
Under Duncan’s leadership, the team has reached the finals in four consecutive seasons, including a Grand Final appearance in 2025.
Duncan also served as an assistant coach with Andrew Harms’ NBL1 Men’s squad, including as part of Frankston’s 2026 championship-winning team.
“The people at Frankston Blues are truly incredible, and I feel incredibly honoured to have been welcomed into the club and embraced as part of the senior program.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my past five years at Frankston. It has been an amazing journey and I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together, including championship success across U20, Youth League and NBL1.”

“At this point in time, I need to spend more time with my family, and as a result, I can’t make the commitment required to coach the Youth League team in 2027. While it’s a difficult and emotional decision, prioritising my family and their needs is ultimately an easy one.
That said, this isn’t forever, and I’m certainly not going anywhere. I know the people involved at the Blues won’t let me fade away easily! I look forward to remaining involved in some capacity when I’m in a position to give the program the time and commitment it deserves.
There are also two things you can absolutely count on:
- I’ll be there for the first game in the new stadium.
- I’ll be there for the banner celebrations!
Thank you to everyone who has made the past five years so special. I’m incredibly grateful for the friendships, experiences and memories, and I’m proud to have been part of the Frankston Blues family.
Let’s go Blues!”
We thank Duncan for his significant contribution to the Blues over the past five seasons and wish him and his family all the very best. We look forward to seeing him back for the first game in the new stadium and to help raise the championship banner!
