BLUES GET AN ONLINE MEDIA BOOST WITH THE ADDITION OF DAMIAN ARSENIS

Blues Basketball is pleased to announce that Damian Arsenis is joining the Blues team to anchor the live streaming commentary and online media coverage for the Blues’ 2018 Senior Programs campaign.

As a co-founding partner of Australia’s largest independent basketball media outlet The Pick and Roll, Arsenis is set to bring his experience and knowledge of the sport for the benefit of the Blues and greater basketball community.

“Frankston Basketball has always been a leader in SEABL media and live streaming, and are extremely excited to have Damian Arsenis on board for the upcoming season,” shared Blues Chairman Chris Beattie announcing the addition of Arsenis to support the Association’s media coverage.

“With a strong basketball background and knowledge of the game, Damian will provide, professional, expert commentary for SEABL games and will contribute across our wide range of media applications. We look forward to Damian’s contribution and welcome him to the Blues family.”

Arsenis boasts a long history with basketball, including as a player, coach, referee and administrator with the Warrandyte Basketball Association, culminating in life membership before entering the sports media.  With an infectious passion for the sport, he is looking forward to helping the Blues media coverage throughout 2018.

“I have been impressed with the quality and professionalism of Frankston’s live streaming coverage over the years,” stated Arsenis. “It is my pleasure to be able to help build upon the great foundations already laid. When you potentially combine the opportunity to watch all of the home games online with on court success, I am sure we will be able to deliver a fantastic experience for the fans at games, but also for those who are unable to attend.

“David Andersen and Ryan Broekhoff are two names synonymous with Frankston Basketball, and I have had the pleasure to cover their careers in great detail. I look forward to the chance to cover the next-generation Blues stars that could emerge to follow in their footsteps.”

Throughout 2017, Arsenis was the lead commentator for the Dandenong Ranger’s WNBL home games which were broadcast via Fox Sports Australia’s live streaming platform. Having covered Australian’s playing basketball in US College, Europe and national teams for the past 5 years, in working with the FDBA, he is also hoping he may be able to secure a special guest or two for the live streaming coverage during the season.

Make sure you keep a look out on the Blues Basketball website and social media channels for some big Blues Basketball news and announcements soon thanks to the work of Arsenis.
