The Frankston Blues are seeking an enthusiastic, passionate and experienced basketball leader to join our High Performance Program as Head of Coaching – Girls.
This is more than a coaching role. It is an opportunity to shape the future of girls’ basketball at Frankston by mentoring coaches, developing athletes and building a united, high-performance culture across our junior program.
Working closely with the CEO, Programs Lead and coaching staff, you will provide leadership that supports the continued growth of one of Victoria’s leading basketball associations.
About the Role
As the Head of Coaching – Junior Girls, you will:
- Lead the development of our junior girls coaching program.
- Mentor and support coaches across all age groups.
- Implement and oversee a club-wide coaching philosophy.
- Drive player development pathways from domestic through to representative basketball.
- Foster a positive, inclusive and high-performance culture.
- Work collaboratively with players, coaches, parents and volunteers.
- Assist with coach education, performance reviews and succession planning.
- Support talent identification, team selection and athlete development initiatives.
- Work alongside the Programs Lead and CEO to deliver strategic objectives across the Frankston Blues pathway.
We’re Looking For Someone Who:
- Has a strong understanding of athlete and coach development.
- Is an inspiring and values-driven leader.
- Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Is passionate about developing coaches as much as players.
- Can work collaboratively within a high-performance environment.
- Demonstrates strong organisational, planning and leadership abilities.
- Has experience creating positive sporting environments for athletes, coaches and families.
- Holds (or is willing to obtain) a current Working With Children Check.
Desirable Experience
- Representative coaching experience.
- Basketball Victoria coaching accreditation at Competition/Club level or higher
- Experience leading coach education or mentoring programs.
- Understanding of Basketball Victoria and Basketball Australia athlete pathways.
- Experience working within a representative or high-performance basketball program.

The Frankston Blues basketball Club (Program) is the representative basketball program of the Frankston & District Basketball Association (Frankston Basketball).
The Blues program includes over 40 junior teams & 4 senior teams which compete in Basketball Victoria’s (BV) Victorian Junior Basketball League (VJBL/Juniors), Big V (23 and Under) and NBL1 South (Seniors).
As one of Victoria’s leading basketball associations, we’re entering one of the most exciting periods in our history. In 2027, the Frankston & District Basketball Association will move into a brand-new, state-of-the-art 10-court basketball facility, significantly expanding opportunities for athlete development, coach education, competitions and community programs.
This growth presents an exciting opportunity for a passionate leader to help shape the future of our junior girls program while contributing to the continued success of the Frankston Blues pathway.
