BLUES FROM HOME – Q&A WITH DARREN SMITH (BA PATHWAYS)

Frankston Blues would like to thank Darren Smith from Basketball Australia Pathways for giving up his time to do a Q&A with us as a part of our Blues From Home program.

The US College pathway is a popular pathway for many Australian athletes looking to be able to gain further development of their skills, education and life experience. We want to continue to promote this as an option for our athletes moving forward by providing further resources so that they are equipped with the information to be able to explore this.

Basketball Australia Pathways is headed up by ex NBL players and experienced junior coaches, Darren Smith and Adrian Newall.

Both Darren and Adrian have been through the college recruitment process themselves as players and have observed the growing desire of Australian athletes seeking to pursue this pathway. Darren has also been through the process more recently as a parent with his daughter Alanna securing a scholarship at Stanford University, whilst Adrian has provided years of support and advice to student-athletes within his roles at the Australian Institute of Sport and The University of Melbourne.

Basketball Australia Pathways offers:

  •  Provide Advice and Guidance
  •  Assessments & Academic Eligibility Review
  •  College Program Introductions & Recruitment Marketing
