Congratulations to all teams competing in this Saturday’s grand finals.
A special thank you to all coaches, team managers and club volunteers for their hard work and cooperation throughout the season.
With our usual grand final setup at Bardia Avenue unavailable, presentation arrangements will vary between venues. Please see the venue-by-venue guide below.
Presentation Locations
- Elisabeth Murdoch College: Outdoor area near the entrance, weather permitting. If required, presentations will take place on court following the match.
- Jubilee Park Stadium: Courts 1 and 2.
- Frankston High School: Entry foyer.
- Patterson River Secondary College: U8 presentations in the foyer. U12–U14 presentations will take place on court following the match.
Presentation Reminders
- Presentations will run for approximately five minutes.
- Please be mindful and respectful of other teams’ presentations when entering or leaving a venue or court.
- Follow the directions of FDBA staff. Signage will be displayed at each venue to help guide teams and spectators.
- Nine medals will be allocated to each team. If any players are absent, the coach or team manager may collect and hold their medals.
- Any team requiring more than nine medals can email competitions@fdba.com.au to enquire if spare medals are available.
Finals Rules
- The clock will stop during time-outs, excluding U8 matches.
- As during the regular season, the clock will stop on all whistles during the final two minutes of the second half.
- If an U10 or older match is drawn, an initial five-minute overtime period will be played. If scores remain level, additional three-minute overtime periods will follow.
- The match clock and team fouls will operate under the same conditions as the second half.
- One volunteer from each team must score as usual. An FDBA referee will sit between the scorers and provide assistance when required.
Player Eligibility Reminder
Teams are not permitted to add a fill-in player for finals.
Junior teams should contact their club to confirm whether a player has qualified. Finals qualification sheets will also be available at each venue.
Any team that fields an ineligible player will forfeit the match in accordance with the competition by-laws.
