Frankston Blues are excited to announce the appointment of Ash Arnott as the new Head Coach of our Youth League Men’s side, on a one-year agreement.

A former SEABL Championship teammate to Blues NBL1 South Men’s Head Coach, Andrew Harms (Dandenong Rangers), Ash brings a wealth of playing and coaching experience.

As a player, Ash represented the Victorian Metro Men on three occasions including a gold medal win at the 2005 Under-18 Championship. Ash received a scholarship to Sonoma State University to play basketball and study a Bachelor of Kinesiology with a concentration in Physical Education.

Ash is the Basketball Victoria High-Performance Coach (Metro – Boys) and his previous roles include being a Graduate Assistant Coach at Grand Canyon University where he worked with Dan Majerle. Upon his return from the US, Ash’s coaching experience includes heavy involvement in Basketball Victoria’s high-performance programs and camps, coaching Victorian state teams at National Championships, and head coach in Big V’s Victorian Youth Championship Men with the Dandenong Rangers.

Ash spoke about his appointment to the position;

“I would like to thank Basketball Victoria and the FDBA for allowing me the opportunity to coach and be apart of the Frankston Blues Senior Men’s coaching staff.”

“I am extremely excited to be working with Wayne, Andrew, and the rest of the Frankston coaching staff in continuing to build a strong senior program in 2021.”

FDBA Chief Executive Officer, Wayne Holdsworth spoke of Ash’s appointment;

“We are delighted that Ash is joining the FDBA as coach of our Youth League men, it’s a coup for Frankston as he brings significant experience and knowledge with him and above all fits the culture that we are developing.”

“I am very much looking forward to the outcomes that will be associated with Ash’s tenure here at Frankston.“
