The April School Holiday period was a huge success with offerings taken up, by over 850 junior basketball participants.

From camps, tournaments, and senior elite basketball there was something for everyone.

Frankston Basketball’s April 2021 School Holiday Camps saw record 467 participants across both camp offerings with something running every weekday. (Recap)

FDBA Basketball Development Manager, Jarryd Moss spoke about the camps.

“We were really pleased with the numbers for the April Camps especially after such a disappointing year in 2020”

“It’s clear to see that basketball is well and truly thriving in the Frankston area, we are working hard to do our part in providing opportunities for all kids to get involved”

On the middle Saturday of the holidays, our NBL1 teams hosted a free Blues Family Fun Day, with 75 children attending. (Recap)

FDBA Marketing and Communications Manager Daniel Spangler spoke about the clinics.

“Activities like the club’s Blues Family Fun Day clinics give our senior representative players exposer to the local grassroots community”

“Following the clinics, we offered discounted tickets to the opening games, and it was great to see those families take up the offer, and we hope to see them continue to come to games.”

The next day saw a one-day 3×3 Street Hustle event hosted in our stadium. (Recap)

“This was our first 3×3 event since our return to sport Peninsula Tour in November last year.”

“38 team registrations are encouraging and participants keep talking about how much fun it is to play.”

To finish the school holiday period our NBL1 teams took the court for the opening games of the NBL1 South 2021 Season, in front of a sell-out crowd. (Recap)

“To see the opening round a sell-out the Friday before the event is simply amazing.”

“This sort of attendance is a true testament to the players drawing interest from the community both on and off the court”
