COVID 19 UPDATE (12/08/2021) - Frankston & District Basketball Association

Dear members,

The Victorian Government has announced that current COVID-19 restrictions will be extended for a 7-day period until 11.59pm Thursday, 19^th August.

FDBA anticipates the resumption of domestic competitions from Saturday 21^st August subject to government approval.

Domestic Competitions

The Winter 2021 season has now been significantly impacted by 3 periods of lockdown.

All junior competitions (U10 to U21) will now be modified with the top 2 placed teams progressing straight to a grand final (changes not applicable for U8’s).

An additional regular-season round will be scheduled in place of semi-finals to provide a more equitable fixture.

No modifications have been made to the senior competition final structure at this stage.

The upcoming Summer 2021/22 season dates are currently unchanged.

Development Programs

Development Programs are currently on hold.

Frankston Basketball will be running Zoom sessions this Sunday the 15th August at 3:00 pm for Beginners (Mini Hoops, Aussie Hoops, and All Abilities) and at 4:00 pm for Intermediate (Game Ready and Domestic Teams).

Frankston Blues (VJBL)

VJBL games for 13th August have been canceled.

Due to the uncertainty of interstate travel and the current COVID-19 situation in Victoria and Australia, Basketball Victoria have made the unfortunate decision to cancel the 2021 National Junior Classic. Read more HERE
