Frankston Basketball is proud to announce we will be running school holiday programs in an online format for the Frankston basketball community.
We’d love to be in the stadium with the kids but this is the next best thing, we’re lucky that basketball is a sport that allows us to still work on our skills and enjoy playing the game we love even if we have to do some from our own homes.
The sessions will be offered to the basketball community for FREE in two formats; Aussie Hoops Holiday Camps Online Slam Dunk Holiday Camps Online.
The Aussie Hoops Camp will be perfect for beginners and children aged between 5-10 years of age looking to pick up some of the basic skills of the game.
The Slam Dunk Holiday Camp is great for kids aged between 8-14 currently playing in our FDBA Domestic Competitions that want to continue to work on their skills.
Aussie Hoops Holiday Camp Online will run from 10:00am to 11:00am on Friday in each week of the School Holidays and will be conducted via Zoom. To register please click HERE.
Slam Dunk Holiday Camp Online will run from 10:00am to 11:00am on Monday and Wednesday in each week of the School Holidays and will be conducted via Zoom. To register please click HERE.
Sessions will be led by some of our Frankston Blues NBL1, Big V and VJBL players and will include ball handling, shooting, and defensive fundamentals as well as some general fitness and physical activity-based exercises. There will also be some time in each session for the coaches to interact with the kids, just like they would at a camp – this will include some Q&A’s, movie recommendations, some basketball-themed trivia, and of course discussion about the WNBA, NBA, WNBL and NBL!
For each session, we will plan for both indoor and outdoor activities (to allow for the weather) and we will also have options for kids with access to a hoop and those without, having access to a hoop will not be a necessary requirement although it is helpful.
All participants will need a solid internet connection, an electronic device with a Zoom setup, a basketball or two, a tennis ball, 5-10 cones or markers, and approximately 4m x 4m of open space.
Further details and instructions about the sessions will be sent out with a ‘Welcome Email’
