FRANKSTON BLUES SET FOR BIG V OPENER AT HOME

The wait is over. The Frankston Blues youth league teams are ready to hit the court as the 2025 Big V season tips off this Saturday, March 15, with an exciting doubleheader at Dreamstreet Lending Arena.

The Victorian Youth Championship Women (VYCW) will open the night against the Altona Gators at 6:30 PM, followed by the Victorian Youth Championship Men (VYCM) taking on the Keysborough Cougars at 8:30 PM.

With a strong preseason behind them, both teams are eager to put their hard work to the test in front of the home crowd.

VYCW Head Coach April Whiston, who enters her first season at the helm, is excited about her squad’s potential. “The excitement is real as we head into Round 1 of the Big V season. This group has put in the work, and now it’s time to show what we’re capable of. We have a team full of competitors who are ready to step up and embrace every challenge. I can’t wait to see them in action and continue to grow throughout the season.”

VYCM Head Coach Duncan Berg, now in his fourth season leading the men’s program, is confident in his team’s preparation. “With the season finally here, the energy around this team is at an all-time high. The chemistry, work ethic, and commitment to improving have been outstanding all preseason, and now it’s time to put it all together on the court. We have high expectations for this group, and we’re ready to compete at a high level from day one.”
