Recently the FDBA in conjunction with Headspace Frankston and South East Melbourne Phoenix facilitated an education session on the very important topic of Mental Health.
The session was designed to provide education on mental health to our players and parents in the hope that if people felt that they needed help they could identify the signs and also know what to do and where to go if help was required.
The response from the FDBA family was overwhelming with over 300 people attending the stadium.
South East Melbourne Phoenix star Ben Magden spoke about his challenges and then Beth and Steph spoke about Mental Health, and the resources available.
FDBA President Tim Bower said that he was overwhelmed with the attendance.
“Some of the topics discussed were very raw and the maturity of our youth athletes blew me away.”
“From a board perspective, the presentation from Ben, Beth and Steph certainly hit the mark and provided guidance.”
