Frankston Blues (FDBA) are proud to announce a joint partnership effort with neighbouring associations; Mornington Breakers (MDBA), Southern Peninsula Sharks (SPBA) and Western Port Steelers (WPA) to form the Peninsula HomeCourt Tournament.

Starting in April, each club’s VJBL players will be set challenges, competing against a different club each Friday afternoon via the NBA’s HomeCourt app;

HomeCourt uses just your iPhone or iPad to capture and analyse how you play, from your shots, to your dribbling, to your movements.

The tournament only has a few simple rules:

  1. All challenges will be run via the HomeCourt App on Friday afternoons 12:00pm to 6:00pm. The challenge won’t be communicated until 12:00pm of competition day.
  2. To enter a submission players must be wearing their full VJBL playing uniform
  3. Each club will take on a different club each week
  4. Each club vs. club challenge will have 1 point up for grabs
  5. At the end of the tournament the club with the most points wins. If there is a tie, an extra tie-breaker challenge will be set on Sunday 26thApril 12:00 pm to 6:00pm
  6. Challenges, scores and winners will be communicated via each club’s social media platforms

FDBA Basketball Development Manager Jarryd Moss spoke about the tournament

“The HomeCourt app has been a great source of engagement for junior members and in particular our Junior Blues players during the Coronavirus lockdown”

“Our Junior Blues have regularly been completing drills and challenges, competing amongst themselves and against our Senior Blues players”

“Other associations have also employed the use of HomeCourt with great results and we have now partnered to create a Club vs. Club Tournament which will provide a further competitive outlet for our players”

“We’re extremely excited and we’re sure our Junior Blues players will enjoy the challenge!”
