Junior domestic basketball was set to return Saturday 18th July at Frankston Basketball, however, unfortunately, due to the State Government’s announcement on 7th July Metropolitan Melbourne is back in Stage 3 lockdowns.
As a message of hope and positivity, we are asking all members of the basketball community to BOUNCE BACK!
Each Saturday afternoon at 12:00 pm we encourage all basketball participants to go outside and BOUNCE BACK by taking 10 dribbles with each had, for each week we are missing basketball. In other words, starting this Saturday 18th July, we encourage everyone to go outside and take ten dribbles with each hand, followed by twenty dribbles next weekend, and continue increasing. With the current lockdown announcements, participants will reach at least 60 dribbles per hand in 6 Saturday’s time.
FDBA General Manager, Wayne Holdsworth spoke about the initiative.
“Yes, last week’s State Government announcement was a setback but we will remain focused on bouncing back and this concept is designed to instill hope in all participants that will again soon be on the boards.”
Some amazing community organisations have put forward some prizes for both young and the young at heart, to be raffled off. Including, for those 18 and under we have an AND1 Player Pack and for those over the age of 18, there is a travel voucher to the value of $1000 thanks to Travel Design Group. More prizes to be announced.
To go in the running participants simply need to fill in the form HERE. An entry each week will be counted as another ticket.
We will be announcing a number of ambassadors in the near future! Keep an eye on Frankston Basketball’s socials.
Let’s all BOUNCE BACK!
