BLUES FROM HOME – WEEK 8

BLUES FROM HOME – WEEK 8

Our Frankston Junior Blues have continued to show great resilience in the face of adversity, since our short return to the stadium they have completed 8+ weeks of online training including skills sessions, Strength and Conditioning, yoga, pilates, meditation sessions, personal development and team sessions.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the players that have continued with online sessions and battled through the very real ‘Zoom fatigue’ that we are all experiencing to varying degrees.

We’d also like to thank the coaches that have generously given up their time to keep our athletes engaged and together during this time, a number of our coaches have continued with team sessions in their own time and many have volunteered to help with our programs also.

In particular, we would like to acknowledge the efforts of Abby Chernishoff and Kassie Boorer for taking on the Hoops-Fit sessions on a Sunday and Wednesday.

Our Senior players have also continued to show great leadership for our Juniors with a number of them volunteering to lead sessions and engage with our Junior players.

We will be taking a break from our Blues From Home schedule over the School Holidays and (hopefully) saying farewell to our Blues From Home sessions for good as we shift our focus to more “pre-season” style sessions. Junior Blues Coaching Coordinators, Kerryn Mitchell and Scott Christiansen will continue to work with coaches to plan age group sessions led by our 2020/2021 coaches, these sessions will be supplemented with regular Strength & Conditioning and movement focused sessions to ensure our athletes are ready to return to the courts as soon as possible.

Please stay tuned for more details around these sessions as well as Junior Blues Coach Announcements and Intent to Play form that will be sent out to all families.
