Frankston Basketball is proud to announce we will be running school holiday programs in an online format for the Frankston basketball community.
We’d love to be in the stadium with the kids but this is the next best thing, we’re lucky that basketball is a sport that allows us to still work on our skills and enjoy playing the game we love even if we have to do some from our own homes.
The sessions will be offered to the basketball community for FREE in two formats; Slam Dunk Holiday Camps Online and Domestic Team Training Online.
Slam Dunk Holiday Camp Online will run from 9:00 am to 10:00 am on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in each week of the School Holidays and will be conducted via Zoom. To register as an individual please click HERE.
Domestic Team Training Online will have a lot more flexibility of times and days. To register your interest in participating in a ‘camp’ as a team please click HERE. Please note: Sessions are only offered to teams/clubs currently playing in FDBA competitions.
Sessions will be led by some of our NBL1 and Big V players and will include ball handling, shooting, and defensive fundamentals as well as some general fitness and physical activity-based exercises. There will also be some time in each session for the coaches to interact with the kids, just like they would at a camp – this will include some Q&A’s, movie recommendations, some basketball-themed trivia, and of course discussion about the WNBA and NBA playoffs!
For each session, we will plan for both indoor and outdoor activities (to allow for the weather) and we will also have options for kids with access to a hoop and those without, having access to a hoop will not be a necessary requirement. All participants will need a solid internet connection, an electronic device with a Zoom setup, a basketball or two, a tennis ball, 5-10 cones or markers, and approximately 4m x 4m of open space. Further details and instructions about the sessions will be sent out with a ‘Welcome Email’
