After a rigorous four-session tryout process, Frankston Blues are proud to announce the squads for the upcoming VJBL 2020/21 Season.

FDBA Board Member, Blues Chairperson Brenda Cotta commended the time and effort by all those that made try-outs possible.

“On behalf of the FDBA Board, I would like to thank all the volunteers (Cindy, Jade, Tam, Alex, Nathan, Kie, Narell, Stephen, Carol and Crystal) for their time to ensure that our tryouts were handled in a safe and efficient manner due to the COVID-19 requirements.”

“I would also like to congratulate the coaches and players on their selection and wish them all the best for next year. Go Blues!”

FDBA Chief Executive Officer Wayne Holdsworth was grateful for the efforts of our coaching coordinators.

“Representative basketball is important to our Association and we were very keen to reactivate the program as soon as we safely could and it has been terrific to see the support for the players and parents. Thank you to Kerryn and Scott for all the hard work and long hours you have committed to. Go well.“

Wayne Holdsworth has also offered a letter, regarding the team selections found HERE

Frankston Blues Boys Coordinator Scott Christiansen spoke about selections in the boy’s teams.

“All players have returned to the courts after a lengthy Covid break in terrific spirit and competed fiercely over four sessions to make a team at Blues for the 2020/21 VJBL season. As usual, the high level of talent in all age groups has meant there is much competition for spots and we congratulate the players who have earned their place in a team.”

Frankston Blues Girls Coordinator Kerryn Mitchell spoke about selections in the girl’s teams.

“It has been wonderful to get back on the court with all of our returning Blues players, as well as a number of hopeful Blues players, at tryouts this past week. The athletes have all brought their A-game, meaning that the competition to make a junior Blues girls team has never been so fierce! It also means that unfortunately, some really good players have missed selection.”

“We understand that tryouts can be a stressful experience, so we would like to thank all of the athletes, both successful and unsuccessful, for their efforts during the tryouts period. We would also like to thank all of the parents for their support of both their child, the other athletes, and the club as a whole. To the athletes who have been selected on a team, we congratulate you and ask that you not take the privilege of wearing the Blues uniform lightly. Wear it with pride as you embark on the 2020/21 VJBL season.”
