DAVID ANDERSEN RETURNS TO FRANKSTON BLUES AFTER 26 YEARS

Frankston Blues (FDBA) are proud to announce the return of David Andersen.

A proud representative of Frankston, David first played for the Blues at age 11 in the junior program, before progressing to the senior program at just 15 years old, going on to play in the 1995 CBA (now NBL1) Grand Final.

FDBA Chief Executive Officer Wayne Holdsworth spoke about the Andersen return.

“It’s great to have David return to his roots at Frankston”

“He has always been a great ambassador for Frankston, the basketball community, and his country, both on and off the court”

“We are absolutely delighted to see him return”

Andersen returns to the Blues with arguably Australia’s greatest basketball resume including 4 Olympic campaigns, 5 Gold Medals in FIBA Oceania/Asia Championships, 3 EuroLeague championships, 9 European National Domestic League championships,  2 years in the NBA (Houston, Toronto, and New Orleans), and the list goes on.

Head Coach Andrew Harms spoke about David’s return.

“We are really excited to have Dave returning to his junior club and continuing to add to his unbelievable basketball legacy.”

“His professionalism, approach to his craft and mentoring of our next generation of senior Blues players has been and will continue to be invaluable.”

“Furthermore, he really provides us some relief in the 4/5 spot as our current injury profile/player unavailability is all at those positions.”

“Whatever Dave brings will be a huge bonus and his club-first attitude has been incredible!”

Damiana Arsenis will catch up with Andersen for an in-depth interview next week.
