This Saturday night our Frankston Blues NBL1 teams will take on the Tasmanian duo, the Launceston Tornadoes and the North-West Tasmania Thunder at home.

The North-West Tasmania Thunder is the former home to Blues’ sharpshooting guard Lachlan Barker, who last week claimed himself 26 points against the Bendigo Braves, then 23 points against the Dandenong Rangers. (Recap)

He was also part of the Blues Men’s 2019 Finals campaign team, averaging 13.6 points per game (at 42% from beyond the arc), 4.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game.

Barker was set to return in 2020, the season that never came to be.

“It’s great being back!”

“After missing out on a whole season and having to wait so long to play, it’s a great feeling to be finally back playing again.”

This weekend Barker will play against his former teammates with the Thunder.

“I find it’s always fun to play against your old team.”

“You get to see and play against your old teammates and hopefully get the bragging rights over them at the end of the game.”

Barker was previously a development player with the Sydney Kings for three years.

With a new NBL franchise inbound, the Tasmania Jack Jumpers, another run in the NBL might be on the horizon.

“I would love the opportunity to play for the Jack Jumpers and it would be pretty cool to play for an NBL team in the state I grew up in.”

“All I can do is put my best foot forward and hopefully, I can get an opportunity to do so.”

In Round 3, on Saturday night, the NBL1 Frankston Blues will play against the Launceston Tornadoes (Women) and the North West Tasmania Thunder (Men). Tickets can be purchased HERE.
