Steph Reid and Townsville Fire have been crowned champions of the WNBL 2022/23 Season.
Reid played her entire juniors with the Frankston Blues, before heading off to college with the Buffalo Bulls. Following her return to Australia, Reid played NBL1 with the ‘Powerade’ Frankston Blues Women. During her time with the Blues NBL1 Women, Reid set a season-high single-game scoring record of 50 points.
Steph has since moved to Townsville to play with the Townsville Fire (WNBL) and Townsville Flames (NBL1 North).
At the end of the regular season, Reid was awarded the ‘Community Award’ and the ‘Golden Hands Award’ averaging 6.1 assists and 1.9 steals per game. Reid also received her club’s MVP award.
Across the Grand Finals games, Reid averaged 14.5 points and 5.5 assists per game, but it was her poise, in high-pressure moments that was most valued by her team. (Box Score Game 1, Box Score Game 2)
Congrats Steph!
