The Frankston Blues are excited to announce the signing of Marta Hermida for the remainder of the 2025 NBL1 South season.
Hermida is no stranger to NBL1 South, having played a key role in Ringwood’s 2022 Championship season before returning in 2023, where she averaged an impressive 17.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game. Across her time in the league, she has earned a reputation as a dynamic guard who can score, facilitate, and defend at a high level.
Over the past six months, Marta has continued to add to her international résumé, playing in Spain’s top division with Kutxabank Araski, where she averaged 9.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game.
“Marta’s leadership, experience, and versatility will be a huge boost to our group,” said Frankston Blues Head Coach Dean Kinsman. “I feel she is going to make a big impact, especially on our juniors. We are really excited to have her join the Blues family.”
Speaking ahead of her arrival, Hermida said: “I’m super excited to join Frankston, a big club that is going to make me feel home in Australia. Dean has made me feel very special and comfortable and he’s shown me already the values and beautiful environment that I’m going to have once I get there. Can’t wait to wear Frankston colors and meet all the fans. See you all soon on the court! I will give my best!”
