Dear Members,
As we approach the end of 2025, I want to take a moment to reflect on what has been an extraordinary year for the Frankston & District Basketball Association.
Our association continues to thrive, with over 12,000 participants, 1,150 teams, and scheduling more than 500 games each week. We are now proud to be one of the largest basketball associations in Australia.
In July, we exited the Bardia Avenue site to allow construction to commence on the stadium redevelopment. The project is progressing well, and we anticipate opening in early-2027. The design looks incredible and will be an amazing asset for our community.
I sincerely thank all members for their patience during this transition. I also want to acknowledge and thank the FDBA staff for navigating the move to our temporary home at FDNA, and extend our gratitude to FDNA management and staff for their outstanding support.
In November, we launched our new Strategic Plan, reinforcing our commitment to driving growth in our region. Our values and strategic pillars will guide us toward long-term sustainability and success.
On behalf of the FDBA Board of Management and staff, I wish you and your families a Merry Christmas and a safe, happy holiday season. We look forward to welcoming you back in 2026 for another exciting year of basketball.
Warm regards,
Tim Bower
