Throughout this information pack, age groups may be sorted by bottom age (BA) and top age (TA). It is important to know which bracket your child falls under to ensure you do not miss your tryout times.

These tryouts are for players who have not played representative basketball (VJBL or equivalent in other states).
Participants must have played domestic/local organised competition before trying out.

**New U16 & U18 Players (2010-2013 born).
There will be no New Player Try Outs (NPT) for Under 16s or Under 18s, Boys or Girls. Instead, please complete this Jotform as an Expression of interest. Frankston Blues administrators will be in further contact.
Frankston Blues (FDBA) are pleased to confirm the VJBL 2026/27 tryout details for returning, transferring and successful new player tryout invitees.
- New players will be contacted if they are successful following the NPTs.
- Due to the number of participants, individual feedback cannot be provided for non-successful participants.
With the Bardia Avenue facility unavailable due to the redevelopment, tryouts will be held at various venues, such as:
- Carrum Downs Secondary College (CDSC) – 263 McCormicks Rd, Carrum Downs
- Elisabeth Murdoch College (EMC) – 80 Warrandyte Road, Langwarrin
- Frankston High School (FHS) – 97 Foot Street, Frankston
- Jubilee Park Stadium (JPS or JUB) – 83R-85R Hillcrest Rd, Frankston
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your tryouts begin to check in with Blues registrars.
Players must bring a basketball, drink bottle and wear appropriate sporting attire, preferably a reversible dark/light singlet or playing top.
Parents are not permitted to watch the tryouts, you will need to drop your child off at registration desk.
For transferring players only: All transferring players who played VJBL in 2025/26 or previous years at a different association will require a Permission to Train or Clearance. The VJBL Permission to Train form can be found HERE (link will be opened by Basketball Victoria from September 1st onwards)
