💬 Supporting SmackTalk and Unplug24 in 2026!

Frankston Basketball is proud to once again support SmackTalk and Unplug24 this October, bringing our basketball community together to raise awareness of online safety, mental wellbeing, and the importance of open conversations.

Following the loss of his 17-year-old son Mac in 2023, Frankston Basketball CEO Wayne Holdsworth was determined to create something positive from tragedy. He founded SmackTalk, a charity dedicated to education, awareness, and helping young people stay safe and connected, both online and in life.

Following the incredible support shown by our community last year, we’re encouraging everyone to get involved once again in 2026.

What is Unplug24?

On Saturday, October 24th, SmackTalk is inviting everyone to take part in Unplug24, a challenge to step away from social media for 24 hours.

The initiative encourages people to reconnect with friends and family, engage in meaningful conversations, and raise awareness.

Play in Red Week – Monday, October 19th to Sunday, October 25th

We’re bringing back Play in Red Week for 2026!

Throughout the week, we’re encouraging everyone involved in Frankston Basketball, including players, coaches, team managers, referees, families and supporters, to wear something red and help spread awareness for SmackTalk and Unplug24.

Add a splash of red to your game-day outfit! Whether it’s socks, shoes, headbands, hair ties, wristbands or ribbons, every bit of red helps show your support.

While we encourage everyone to participate across the entire week, Saturday 24 October will be the centrepiece of our campaign, as our Junior Domestic Competition coincides with Unplug24.

Let’s fill our courts with red and show the strength of the Frankston Basketball community!

❤️ Donate and Make a Difference

Alongside wearing red and participating in Unplug24, our community can also make a difference by supporting the fundraising efforts of SmackTalk.

Every donation helps support SmackTalk’s educational presentations and initiatives, promoting online safety, encouraging important conversations, and helping prevent sextortion and suicide.
